Phil's a drone engineer by trade — he gets the electronics inside these machines. From rebuilding broken inner casings of electric unicycles to custom mods on scooters, he's done it all. Workshop is 200m from iRoll HQ in Tableview. Most fixes are same-day.

BMS Diagnostics
Battery Management System health checks, cell voltage testing, and capacity assessment. We use multimeters and factory diagnostic procedures.
Battery Health & Rebuilds
Cell testing, replacement cells, and full battery pack rebuilds. We don't just replace — we diagnose why it failed.
Tyre & Wheel Service
Solid and pneumatic tyre fitting for all scooter and EUC models. Punctures, replacements, and wheel bearing swaps.
Brake Servicing
Disc brake bleeding, pad replacement, and caliper adjustment. Essential safety maintenance.
Motor & Controller
Motor bearing replacement, hub motor repairs, controller diagnostics and swaps. The most common fix — usually 20 minutes.

Common Issues We Fix
My scooter won't turn on — is it the battery?
Usually it's either a dead battery (test with a multimeter — should read 48V+ on most models) or a controller fault. Bring it in — we can diagnose in 10 minutes.
How often should I service my scooter?
For daily commuters: check tyre pressure weekly, brake pads every 500km, and a full inspection every 3 months. For weekend riders: every 6 months is fine.
Will daily charging damage my battery?
No — lithium batteries prefer regular charging cycles. Our rental fleet charges daily and the batteries last 3+ years.
Do you have spare parts for my model?
If it's an Inmotion, Dualtron, or King Song model we stock, yes — we bring parts in with every shipment. For other brands, we can usually source or fabricate a solution.
I'm outside Cape Town — can you still help?
Yes. For simple fixes, we can courier you the part with instructions. For major repairs, courier the unit to our Tableview workshop — we'll fix it and send it back.
My range has dropped — what's wrong?
Could be tyre pressure (low pressure kills range), battery degradation (normal after 2+ years), or riding style. We can test battery health and diagnose the real cause.

Inmotion S1F Batch Fix
Inmotion S1F batch issue — controllers needed replacement. Phil tested controllers from a previous shipment, confirmed the fix, and swapped 10 units in a day. '20 minute job each. Works 100%.'
The 48.3V Mystery
Customer's scooter wouldn't power on. Factory suggested battery voltage test. Reading was 48.3V — battery was fine. Turned out the battery power key wasn't being turned on. Simple fix, honest diagnosis.
Inner Casing Rebuild
Electric unicycle took a hard drop. Inner casing cracked. Phil rebuilt it from scratch — not a replacement job, a genuine rebuild.

1 Year Factory Warranty
All iRoll products carry a 1-year standard factory warranty. If something fails within the first year due to a manufacturing defect, we fix it free.
Out-of-Warranty Repairs
After the first year, we still fix it — just at standard labour + parts rates. Fair pricing, honest assessment.
Not Our Product? No Problem
We repair all major brands, not just iRoll stock. Grey import, secondhand, or bought elsewhere — bring it in.
