Aptum says 40-50km. Real world? Plan on 30-40km depending on terrain, rider weight, and throttle use. Off-road riding chews through battery faster than smooth roads.
Why we stock it
Aptum is a South African brand — designed here, supported here. That's a big deal when you need parts or service. The AP-2C is their entry-level e-moto: 2000W mid-drive motor, 48V 20Ah battery, and proper oil brakes front and rear.
Top speed of 45km/h means it's quick enough to be fun, but not a licence-loser. Ground clearance of 280mm handles ruts and rocks. At around 50kg it's lighter than full-size dirt bikes — easy to load onto a bakkie for weekend trails.

Do I need a licence to ride the AP-2C?
In South Africa, electric motorcycles under a certain power and speed threshold don't require a motorcycle licence on private property. On public roads, regulations vary. Check with your local traffic department. It's always safer to ride with a helmet and protective gear regardless.
What's the real-world range?
Expect 30-40km on mixed terrain. Smooth roads give you more, off-road and hills use more. 40-50km is the max under ideal conditions.
Is it suitable for kids?
The AP-2C is designed for younger riders with built-in safety features, but parental supervision is recommended. Max load is 120kg, so it handles teens and smaller adults fine. Helmet and protective gear are non-negotiable.
Can I get parts and service in South Africa?
Yes — Aptum is an SA brand with local support. For anything we can't sort at our Blouberg workshop, we source directly from Aptum. You're not stuck waiting for parts from China.
How long does it take to charge?
6-7 hours with the standard 54.6V 3A charger. Plug in overnight and you're good to go the next morning.
Do you deliver?
Nationwide via RAM Courier. Western Cape R300-400 depending on size, rest of SA R400-700. Collection from our Blouberg gazebo is free.

What is the warranty?
1 year standard factory warranty on all products. We have 2 technicians in Blouberg for repairs and maintenance, and stock all necessary spares.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes! Western Cape R200-400, rest of South Africa R300-700 depending on scooter size. Delivery takes 2-3 business days via RAM Courier.
Can I test ride before buying?
Absolutely! We have demo units at our gazebo on Blouberg beachfront. Just check in ahead to confirm we're set up.
