The Rovoron R7 is a substantial electric scooter for riders who want more than a stick scooter. It has real presence on the road, a planted feel and a proper lighting package.

Two brushless hub motors, 900 W nominal each, give you dual drive. ABS and EBS electric braking are fitted, and it handles slopes of about 36.4% (20°). Max load is 120 kg. Front and rear spring suspension and 90/65-6.5 tubeless tyres keep things comfortable. It's best on asphalt and flat pavement, and it copes with obstacles and gaps under 5 cm.

Be seen, and say what you're doing. You get a headlight and horn, tail light, hazard warning, front and rear turn signals, reflectors and a stem RGB light. There's a plate holder too. The EY3 display connects over Bluetooth to the Minimotors app.

Safety goes into the battery bay as well. There's a smoke detector, plus over-heat, short-circuit, over-current, over-discharge and over-charge protection. The stem folds for transport, and there are two charging ports.

Self-sealing tyres are available for +R1,000.
